Orcas Island Maternity
It’s a well-known fact that the Pacific Northwest is one of my absolute favorite destinations; to be honest, I didn’t think it was possible for me to fall even more in love with the area, but Claire’s maternity session completely tipped the scales.
Classic Wedding at Eau Claire’s Lismore Hotel
The ceremony celebrated their love - and patience getting to the altar in front of family and friends! - and was a privilege to witness. After a walk to the river for photos in a beautiful little park, we met their guests at the reception, which continued an already wonderful day by featuring great food, heartfelt speeches, and lots of dancing!
Twin Cities Newborn Session
Bows and headbands and cuteness, on my! Miss Madden is a little sweetheart, and even at eight days old she already knows how to “work the angles” for the camera! Her parents might have their hands full with her spunk in the future, but she is such a blessing that I don’t think they’ll mind too much.
Minneapolis Maternity Session
My wish for Marit and Blake’s sweet baby girl is that her life is filled with simple pleasures and true friends that always have her back!
Edina Engagement Session
Is it just me, or does just about everything this spring seem more beautiful since our enjoyment of it was cut short last year? The skies are bluer, the air smells sweeter, and the flowering trees in our neighborhood are popping with even more gusto than usual…all to welcome us back to life after a long hibernation.
Marlana + Matthew
I drove back to central Wisconsin for Matthew and Marlana’s maternity session and discovered fresh snow on the ground, temps in the upper twenties, and stunning scenery on his family’s land…this, my friends, is what maternity session dreams are made of!
Faith-Filled Wedding at Erickson Farmstead
Jordan and Janaé’s summer wedding at the beautiful Erickson Farmstead was nothing short of an absolute dream! If you know me, you know I LOVE a day with overcast skies…and after a night of intense storms, Mother Nature calmed down and decided to cooperate just in time for their big day, providing gorgeous light and a comfortable atmosphere for their guests.
Summer Wedding in Medford, Wisconsin
I’m always pleasantly surprised by the new photo locations I’m introduced to by my clients - in this case, we were able to make use of the bride’s parents’ beautiful property for both detail photos in them morning and then again for portraits later in the day!
Covid Wedding at Erickson Farmstead
Months of uncertainty due to a global pandemic melted away as Max and Ciara’s wedding day dawned bright and sunny, with perfect June breezes to make us forget there had ever been a question the day might be anything other than ideal.
In-Home Photo Sessions
Choosing a location for your photo session can be an overwhelming process! I'm always happy to provide suggestions, but I also like to ask my clients to think about places that have meaning to them, spots that might match a certain aesthetic they're looking for in their images, and distance from their home so they don't need to travel too far to get there. Sometimes the perfect solution is their home itself!
Engagement on the Oregon Coast
It was a fateful trip to Florida to visit her friend Brittany from undergraduate school when she was first introduced to Aman. He was in Navy flight school with Brittany and he and Laura must have made a good first impression on each other because it wasn’t long before they were dating long distance - Aman still in Florida and Laura back in Minnesota.
Sentimental Wedding in Minneapolis
Mike and Andria were married at her family church; not only were her grandparents original members of the community, but several generations of her close relatives have had their own wedding celebrations there!
Heartfelt Wedding at Gathered Oaks
It sounds cheesy, but it’s true - from the moment I met Danielle and Jim at a Caribou in the suburbs, I knew they were special. The deep love and respect they share for each other was quiet and unassuming, and they completely lit up as we discussed their wedding day vision; before long I felt like we were old friends, their kindness and gentle spirits wrapping me in a cozy hug to compliment my chai latte.
Jillian + John
John and Jill’s wedding took place on a perfect spring day in Minnesota. I was so excited to wake up to chirping birds and cheerful rays of sunshine - what a great start to the big day for such a special couple!
Creating a Wedding Day Timeline
Every wedding is unique, which is one of the reasons I love them so much! From indoor to outdoor ceremonies, dates during the summer or winter, and bridal parties of a single bridesmaid and groomsman to those with ten of the couple's best friends standing up on either side, the one thing that is consistent between all wedding days is the need for a schedule or timeline.
Emily + Joe
Since the happy couple met each other while working at Camp Luther in Wisconsin, their faith and camp backgrounds played huge parts in the day. Joe is studying to become a pastor, and the service was particularly meaningful with readings, music, and a sermon that truly highlighted their love of Christ and each other.
Erickson Farmstead
It was easy to see that the owners and staff have put their hearts into the continued restoration of the farmstead, as each room in the home is full of comfort and charm. The buildings each offer something spectacular, from chandeliers in the reception barn to the gorgeous natural light streaming in through the windows of the summer kitchen. If you’re looking for a rustic location on the north side of the metro, this may be the perfect place for you - they’ll welcome you in like family immediately.
Happy Easter 2018
Nzube + Jumoke
St. Anthony Main is easily one of my favorite areas - to both visit personally and to photograph. The quirky, colorful shops and cafes that line the river give a little extra flavor to the city, and the beautiful skyline view of downtown Minneapolis can’t be beat! It was the perfect location for this couple - urban, but with some soft touches that made it feel like it’s been their home far longer than the last few years.
