Abigail + Kristian / Spring Wedding at Genesis Ranch
Held at Genesis Ranch in Rosemount, MN, Abigail and Kristian’s wedding day on a breezy Saturday in May was straight out of a dreamy fairytale. They wanted their day to be elevated, joyful, and full of love; the setting, decor, and emotions flowing through the event more than hit the mark to create a setting that evoked feelings of contentment, peace, and the beauty of their love story. The most incredibly supportive friends and family were by their sides throughout the day, lifting them up and pouring positivity into every moment.

How to Handle Last Minute Changes on Your Wedding Day
How can you plan for the unexpected? Even the most perfectly planned weddings run the risk of getting slightly off-track…and that’s okay. It happens to just about everyone! It’s all about feeling prepared and knowing how you want to handle things in the moment - so let’s dive right in!

Black Sand Beach Anniversary Session / April + Josh
Question: Should you drive more than three hours to find the perfect secluded beach for a fun and flirty swimsuit photo shoot?
Answer: Obviously yes!
April and Josh’s anniversary session is the proof that you can make your photos anything that you want.

How to Create a Must-Have Shot List for Your Photographer
Whether you’ve been envisioning your wedding day since you were young or first started dreaming about your perfect aesthetic after getting engaged, there are bound to be pieces of the day that you can already picture in your mind. You want to feel confident that your photographer will be capturing each important minute so you can experience the magic all over again afterward! Creating a must-have shot list will help them understand the moments that mean the most to you, while giving you peace of mind that everything will be covered.

Choosing Your Wedding Photography Package
The struggle is real.
You’re engaged to the love of your life and you’re excited to jump into wedding planning. You’re touring venues, flipping through bridal magazines, and setting an official date. Then you start looking for a photographer. Each one seems to have such different options that it’s nearly impossible to compare them! It doesn’t help when you don’t know what you want when it comes to wedding photography coverage…sometimes too many choices can make things even more confusing.
So how can you be confident that you’re choosing the perfect wedding package?

Sunny Fall Wedding at Stone Lion Winery / Kourtney + Jalen
As many modern love stories begin, Kourtney and Jalen met through a dating app. Their first date was at a Minneapolis brewery, where they bonded over their affinity for beer and how grateful they were to enjoy warm poutine together on such a chilly evening. Their connection was so strong that they went through three different servers during that first date because their servers kept ending their shifts!

Chic Fall Wedding at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club / Erin + Gabe
The fall season in Minnesota is, in my opinion, the best time of the year in our state. There’s a crispness in the air, the leaves are peeping golds, oranges, and reds, and you catch your breath at the beauty of Mother Nature every time you turn around. It should be no surprise that it’s a wildly popular season for weddings in the Midwest - and that I look forward to every one of those events each year!
If you’re not convinced, take just one look at Erin and Gabe’s chic fall wedding at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club in Prior Lake, MN.

Romantic Minneapolis Lavender Farm Engagement / Caitlin + Anthony
Caitlin and Anthony were very intentional when making the choices that led to one of my favorite engagement galleries to date, and they’re taking the same approach with wedding planning: listening to their hearts, seeking out the aesthetic and feelings they know will bring them the most peace and joy, and staying true to themselves and their relationship.

Hastings, MN Engagement Session / Abigail + Kristian
Soft pastel ribbons of color streaked the sky above the Mississippi River as I met Abigail and Kristian in downtown Hastings, MN for their summer engagement session. It was a classic humid midwestern evening, but these two lovebirds were so relaxed and happy to live in the moment that there was no chance the steamy air was going to bring the down vibes!

Candid and Documentary Style Wedding Photography
Candid and documentary wedding photography are having a moment right now. Many couples want to look through their wedding gallery and feel like they’re reliving their day all over again through images that aren’t heavily posed. Instead, they want them portray the truth of each moment. And honestly? I’m totally here for it.

Should My Photographer Shoot on Dual Cards?
What does it mean for a photographer to shoot on dual cards?
You’ll see this included on just about every What questions should I ask my photographer? list out there: “Do you shoot on dual cards?”
Honestly, this may not make much sense to all the non-photographers out there. What in the heck does “dual cards” mean?

The Essence Event Center Wedding / St. Paul, MN / Chrissy + Sam
Chrissy and Sam exchanged vows in front of their family and friends on a gorgeous June day in St. Paul. Their ceremony was filled with jokes and laughter, with the love they share seeping into every moment. Chrissy’s taste for chic elegance created a stunning atmosphere, flawlessly executed by Dos Goats, and led to a day that I’ll truly never forget.

How to Store Your Wedding Photos
It's SO not glamorous. It's kind of annoying. And it's probably the last thing you want to think about, especially after you've gotten back from your honeymoon and are settling into married life.
But it's CRUCIAL that you take the time to properly store your wedding photos.
Your photos are one of the few things that you keep with you once your wedding day is over. You put so much of your heart and soul into planning a beautiful day that celebrated your love story; hold onto those feelings and memories forever by properly storing your images so they'll always be accessible. You might want to find a particular photo in three months or thirty years so do your future self a favor and take care of it now!

Centennial Lakes Wedding / Edina, MN / Katy + Nick
A rainy summer Edina, MN wedding for the sweetest couple filled with personal touches, a mountain of love, and a few delightful surprises along the way? SIGN. ME. UP.
Katy and Nick are proof that your wedding can be EXACTLY what you want it to be - no need to worry about how your wedding compares to another because here’s thing: there is no comparison. Your day is your day and, as such, it should be all about you and what you love!

Guide to Getting Married in Door County
It’s MUCH more than just a popular summer vacation destination and, in my opinion, is just about one of the most unique and beautiful areas for a wedding here in the Midwest.
Whether you’re local or want to plan a Door County destination wedding, selecting your location and vendors can be a daunting process! To save you a boatload of time - and a heck of a lot of stress - I’ve compiled this guide to getting married in Door County!

Rothschild Pavilion Wedding / Rothschild, WI / Kelly + Matt
Kelly and Matt’s summer wedding at the Rothschild Pavilion was the perfect way to kick off the season! I couldn’t get enough of the classy European vibes the entire day featured, like a wedding venue with rock arches, Kelly’s stunning dress and handmade bouquets (yes, she made them herself!), and the waterfront point where we watched the sun dip below the horizon in the evening.

How to Plan a Bridgerton-Inspired Wedding
If you’re like me, you are eagerly anticipating the release of season 3 (part 2) of Bridgerton on Netflix; not only because the classic friends-to-lovers trope is *chef’s kiss*, but also because it’s just so gosh darn beautiful to watch! The set, costumes, hair and makeup, music…every element has a rather posh and slightly extra vibe and I am LIVING for it.
Madi and Raven’s day at The Lowlands in St. Paul is a perfect example of how to infuse a little Regency era flair into your own wedding. Let the planning commence!

Late Night Wedding Photography
One of the challenging things about choosing a wedding photographer is deciding which wedding package makes the most sense for you. Every photographer offers something a little bit different, so it’s no surprise that it can be a confusing journey to figure out exactly what you’re looking for, especially if you aren’t sure how long you want them to stay into your dance for late night photos.

How to Plan the Perfect Sunset Photos
Have you ever noticed how golden, glowy sunset lighting is often used to set the scene in movies when those two characters that you just KNOW are supposed to be together finally realize it for themselves? They might be sitting in front of a window in a Paris cafe when it suddenly hits them, or perhaps they’ve realized they can’t bear to be apart any longer and are running to each other on the beach, but lighting in the film is an intentional choice to enhance the warm glow in your heart that they’ve finally realized they’re meant to be.

Does it Matter if Your Wedding Photographer Hasn’t Worked at Your Venue Before?
I’m going to share a controversial opinion:
It doesn’t matter if a wedding photographer has worked at your venue before or not.
It’s a question I see on many checklists of things you should ask when you’re hiring your wedding photographer, but it’s one that I don’t think is actually all that important. While there are certainly benefits to your wedding vendors having experience at the venue you’ve selected, there are also benefits to a photographer coming in with fresh eyes for the first time.
