What a day here looks like
Kourtney and Jalen’s wedding at Stone Lion Winery and Events highlighted just how fun-loving and unapologetically themselves they truly are, creating a memorable day for everyone in attendance.
They stood back to back as they exchanged handwritten letters before their first look, a personal touch that had them laughing and crying before they even saw each other the first time. Their wedding party soon joined them, after which they focused on immediate family photos prior to embracing quiet time hidden away when their guests began to arrive. Personal vows led to a surprise beer-pouring unity ceremony that brought together two beers from the brewery where they’d shared their first date!
Following a receiving line to greet everyone, they snuck away for sunset photos, Kourtney slipping into comfortable bright blue Crocs to more easily frolic in the golden October light. A grand entrance preceded dinner, toasts, and their donut bar before a packed dance floor wrapped the evening in spectacular fashion.
Tips for couples
When to schedule portraits for the best light: Stone Lion Winery is a unique venue in that it truly has fantastic photo backgrounds for every outdoor lighting situation. Ideally, try to avoid noon simply because the sun is at it’s highest, but there’s more flexibility when scheduling portraits to get the best light here because there are so many solid locations.
Where to tuck in family photos: Family photos prior to the ceremony work well if you’re planning a first look. Otherwise, family photos immediately following the ceremony keep everyone you need nearby to quickly move through your list of desired photos.
Quiet spots for a first look or private vows: Walk down the path to the open spaces near the reception tent and make the most of the natural beauty of the tree lines for your first look.
