Planning an Outdoor Wedding in Minnesota
We live in a pretty magical place. Minnesota has it all: lakes, rivers, bluffs, forests, prairies, four real seasons, and the nicest people you’ll ever meet. PLUS, we don’t have earthquakes, hurricanes, or those scary huge spiders that live in Australia. I’m biased, but the land of 10,000 lakes is one of the best places for a wedding.
If you’re not sure what special considerations to make when planning an outdoor wedding, I’ve got you covered!
Spring and summer in the midwest can be anything from comfortably warm to…well, almost unbearably hot. Keeping that in mind, provide plenty of water bottles for your guests and look for a venue that offers shady spaces where people can take a break from the sun’s heat.
On the flip side, if you’re expecting a chilly evening, supplying a basket of blankets or hosting a campfire and s’mores can keep your guests cozy and warm. Ask your venue about tall heat lamps; they’re a big crowd-pleaser!
And, if your reception will be outside, don’t forget about those pesky mosquitoes! The last thing you’ll want is to fly off to a fabulous honeymoon while covered in uncomfortable bug bites.
With a little extra planning, your day will go off without a hitch.
