My Working Style

If there’s one person you’ll spend more time with on your wedding day than your new spouse, it’s your photographer! So, it stands to reason that finding the perfect photographer not only means finding someone whose style you like and whose work fits your budget, but it also means you should feel comfortable with their personality and working style as well.

My working style is a mix of blending in to get true candids while also selecting the appropriate moments to really step up and direct what needs to happen to get great images!

Ceremony

Your ceremony is such an important part of the day, and my goal is to be as invisible as possible - while still getting great shots. Your guests should be focusing on you the whole time, not getting distracted by the photographer! I typically start up front for the wedding party and bride’s processional, after which I’ll move to the sides and back of the center aisle to make sure I don’t draw any attention away from you and your special moment. My favorite zoom lens means your pictures will imply I was right in the action the whole time, I promise. ;)

The Happy Couple

When it comes to portraits, my preference is to present a pose and then offer directions and ideas so that you and your fiance can flow together and really make the pictures your own; this creates images that feel effortless and true to your relationship. I want you to have such a great time that you forget the camera is even there - you won’t be thinking about where to look (or what to do with your hands)!

Wedding Party and Family

Many couples are concerned that it may be a challenge to organize their loving and boisterous family members and wedding parties. Especially with these groups, I adopt a take-charge attitude..if needed, I’ll bring out my friendly camp counselor voice to be heard above side conversations and to get everyone focused on me. I try to arrange groups and snap pictures quickly during this time since everyone wants to get back to the celebration as soon as possible.

Everything Else

I like to blend in and capture moments as they happen, from getting dressed before your first look to candids of your guests during cocktail hour!
