Sweet Minneapolis Newborn

Finley

As 2021 comes to a close and people reflect on the year, I prefer to hear both the good and bad. It’s what makes a life real, instead of Instagram-perfect. Embracing the joy and the sorrow, sharing triumphs and struggles - that’s what makes us human. It’s the perfect little roar C had when wearing his lion costume for Halloween that was quite possibly the cutest thing I’d ever witnessed, but it’s also the two unplanned surgeries our dog needed and the extra care she required to recover afterward. It’s a dear cousin’s stunning wedding on an island in Washington that filled my heart to the brim, but it’s also frantically trying to find a good plumber at 8 PM on a Saturday night to drill out the tree roots in the sewer line we had paid someone to take care of two months prior (and apparently didn’t) because water was starting to back up into the basement. It’s the pure joy on C’s face the first time he went sledding with Grandma and Grandpa, but it’s also struggling to cope with loss and not knowing how to be a support for your friends who are experiencing loss of their own.

2021 has been filled with (mostly) wonderful memories ;) and I am so grateful to you all, who continue to allow me to explore my creative dreams and document your special moments. May 2022 bring you blessings and peace…and great photos!

To close out the year, here is a “good” from 2021 - the arrival of a friend’s sweet baby Finley.
